The deeper version is that the coordination work is invisible to leadership because it gets done. The senior people on your team are skilled at routing around the gaps. They don't escalate it because they figured out the workaround. So the cost shows up as "everyone seems tired" or "we keep missing things" instead of as a problem with a name. Naming it is the first move.
What I'd build first.
The first build I'd run with you is the highest-friction handoff in your operation, automated end-to-end. The handoff between sales and delivery. The handoff between a project closing out and the next one kicking off. The recurring report that pulls from four tools and lands in a fifth. We pick one handoff that costs a real amount of human time every week, and we build AI to do the routing so the team stops being the bridge for that one.
Once you've felt the difference one wired-in handoff makes, the next one becomes obvious because it has the same shape. The tools don't change. The coordination work shifts from people to a build that lives in the middle. The team gets their attention back for the work only they can do.
